Happily Ever After

One of my favorite ficticious marriages came to an end in Action Comics #904, not in tears, death or with a deal with the devil, but with a romantic dinner, a walk home and one last example of just why they are so right for each other. Thank you DC for giving me 14 years of maritial fun with one of my favorite couples.

Torchwood's Eve Myles Talks Gwen Cooper, 'Miracle Day,' John Barrowman and Seeing The "Bigger Picture"

Pop Confidential recently interviewed Eve Myles on her feelings about bringing Torchwood across The Pond.

PC: American audiences embraced Dr. Who and Torchwood long before the BBC partnered with Starz for Torchwood: Miracle Day, but this is the first installment in the mythology filmed and set largely outside of the U.K. How has that experience been for you as a Welsh actress and for the character of Gwen?

EM: For myself, I have a beautiful daughter of my own, a little baby, and a partner, who is also an actor and a dog. I have my own family. Taking off for Los Angeles was of course a dream come true; It was wonderful, but the reality and the actual nitty gritty of it was that my partner had to give up work for a year to look after our daughter, and my daughter had to do two long haul flights, and my dog…I had to set up home in a completely different country, which was very much like Ms. Gwen Cooper. It’s kind of strange how life imitates art sometimes, you know [Laughs]?  It was wonderful and given the chance, I’d go back and do it again in a heartbeat.

The Man of Steel

The upcoming Superman DC reboot has me really disheartened about Superman because it's stripping away a lot of the things I've loved about the Superman comics for the past 15 years, BUT I promised myself that I would withhold judgment until the reboot issues came out. However, I realized that my dislike of the reboot has tempered my excitement for the new Superman movie which is crazy because it's staring an actor I LOVE and an actress who IS Lois Lane and seems to be bloody awesome all around; so for those of you not following The Man of Steel news, check out this picture of Henry Cavill as Superman. I think it's a very good take on the original, which in itself is being chucked by DC.... OK, I had to get that out.

What do you think?

Also in a bit of unexpected, but in my opinion, brilliant casting, Laurence Fishburne is the new Perry White?

Sarah Michelle Geller's Ringer is scheduled to premiere this fall. Take a look at the latest preview.

Geek-statsic Proposal

I don't know what's cooler: the fact that Patrick Stewart just made this engagement so, or that my favorite Star Trek Captain of all time still does conventions. Live long and prosper indeed!
